Tobias Putrih will first present the project Walkingstick and then provide a practical demonstration of putting together and assembling the elements of shelves, tables, and chairs. The event will be rounded off with an informal conversation with the artist.
Designed as a set of furniture for a reading room under construction and drawing on the possibility of assembling and disassembling furniture, the project Walkingstick embodies the essence of the artist’s creation – to integrate an individual, potential user into the process of constant adaptation and active exploration of an object. Thus, Putrih transcends the division between the artist and the non-artist or, rather, between the creator and the non-creator and links ideology, image, and usability.
