Poursuivant / Pursuers by Vienna-based South Korean artist Yein Lee explores the mutability of bodies and the complex relationships between the self, societal structures, and the surrounding environment. The performance examines how these forces—often in tension—shape both individual subjectivity and collective existence, emphasising the ambivalence of interconnectivity.
Performers interact with wearable sculptures crafted from steel tubing, electrical wire, and epoxy putty, blurring the boundaries between body and object while challenging physicality and the sense of self. At times, performers resist the sculptures, struggling against their forms; at others, they surrender, allowing the structures to reshape and redefine them. Influencing and reconfiguring one another, bodies remain in continuous flux— trapped, embraced, resisting.
The performance accompanies the opening of Accomplice, a solo exhibition by the artist presenting a new series of sculptural works developed for the Parterre Gallery. The exhibition explores material instability, spatial uncertainty, and the transience of forms under conditions of environmental and societal stress.
