16. 9. 2024, 20.00: Don Malfon (Alfonso Muñoz), Mulčer, Clockwork Voltage Orchestra
DON MALFON (Alfonso Muñoz) is a Catalan composer, avant-garde and experimental saxophonist, innovator and free improviser with more than 50 albums to his name. His particular approach is purely acoustic sonic exploration. This has led to the development of some extended techniques in order to explore the outer limits of the saxophone sound. His works fall into the genres of "noise music", experimental music, free improvisation, free jazz and current avant-garde music.
MULČER is a machine designed for mulching plant residues in agriculture, viticulture, fruit growing and cleaning other agricultural, municipal and infrastructure areas. Mulčer is an electro - acoustic - primitivist - impro - trance trio, a new ensemble of Samo Kutin, Andrej Fon and Szymon Gąsiorek. Prepared hurdy-gurdy, guitar and drums come together in search for rhythm and rolling riffs.
CLOCKWORK VOLTAGE ORCHESTRA
Drummer and improviser Jaka Berger has brought together modular synthesiser artists working in Ljubljana under the name Clockwork Voltage. The collective of individuals has organised several rehearsals where the modularists have presented themselves individually, each with their own vision. A modular synthesiser is like an orchestra of modules, which require the skilful hand of a conductor to play them. This time, however, the Clockwork Voltage collective will present itself for the first time as an orchestra, that is to say, an orchestra of conductors, each conducting his own orchestra of electronic apparatus. The Orchestra features Jaka Berger, Miha Šajina, Jure Anžiček, Aleš Hieng, Miha Godec and Rob Canning.
17. 9. 2024, 20.00: Lip Rouge, Nina Farič – Kikiriki, Alastair Mcneill, Marta Fakuch
LIP ROUGE is a fresh duet featuring Karmen Ponikvar (Korg MS20) and Eva Mulej (voice, recorder, electric guitar, viola), creating a hypnotic habitat of improvisational sound structures where voice, electroacoustic instruments and analogue synthesis intertwine. It is the result of a process of searching for new connections between pre-conceived ideas and intuition. Their compositions of an organic and minimal nature explore the intimacy of sound and create mystical soundscapes. The main philosophy is to allow chance to express itself through the work.
NINA FARIČ – KIKIRIKI is the first lady of Slovenian noise, having been involved in noise for more than 15 years. Initially, she extracted the richness of distorted sounds from effects and DIY electroacoustic feedback loops, and more recently from Moog Mother 32 sound synthesizers. She has participated in numerous projects and made soundtracks for various performances, shows, animations, films, documentaries (Amir Muratović's film "Nothing should surprise us" for RTV Slovenia), radio, etc. She has already signed the name Kikiriki to nine releases, including the album Woodsinus in 2016 for the Kamizdat label.
ALASTAIR MCNEILL is a British musician and improviser who uses a variety of electronic systems/instruments to push musical boundaries, ranging from sound art soundscapes, contemporary compositions, folk, dance, electronica and noise. Recently, he has been learning to play a two-string electric cello for improvisation, exploring the spatial placement of this instrument in different ambisonic systems in real time. In Cukrarna, he will explore the space with a hexaphone guitar tuner and several guitar amplifiers in order to spatialise the harmonic structures associated with this space.
MARTA FAKUCH is an AV ensemble founded in 2019 and composed of Gašper Letonja, Lina Rica, Marek Fakuč and Žiga Palčar. The group works in the field of experimental audio-visual practices that straddle different genre styles and have a tendency to dynamically evade categorisation. The ensemble operates with acoustic-electronic fusions that, in combination with video and computer-generated animation, grow into the side of multimedia art. This approach is reflected in contemporary sound and image, creating a multidimensional homogeneous unit.
