Marko Batista: At the Edge of Reason
Marko Batista's exhibition at Cukrarna Gallery in 2025 presented his installation, At the Edge of Reason, in which, alongside 3D prints, the artist employed discarded technological remnants, algorithmically generated images, and atmospheric signals. From these elements he constructed a futuristic landscape of new hybrid machines—spatially, sonically, and conceptually. These machines no longer serve a clearly defined purpose, yet they continue to pulse and emit sounds that no longer belong to any information system. What remains before us is the residue of a technological infrastructure that has already undergone decay and mutation.
The catalogue includes an essay by Jasmina Založnik, in which the author highlights the key characteristics of Batista's artistic practice and situates this installation within the broader context of his oeuvre. It also features a conversation between the curator and the artist. The publication is complemented by an extensive selection of installation photographs, as well as photographic documentation of selected earlier projects.
The publication is published in a bilingual Slovenian–English edition.
