Flaka Haliti: I SHOUT, YOUR ECHOES BOUNCE, WHAT AM I?

The exhibition I SHOUT, YOUR ECHOES BOUNCE, WHAT AM I? by Flaka Haliti creates a landscape of indeterminacy, where beings resist categorization – much like Cukrarna, a space shaped by numerous transformations. Once a 19th-century sugar refinery, the building became a refuge for the dispossessed and artists of the Slovenian modernist movement after a devastating fire and its conversion into poor housing. Today, as a cultural centre, it embodies a history of class shifts and identity transformations. Through a foggy atmosphere and subtle references, Haliti opens a dialogue with the site's legacy – not directly, but through conceptual layers that explore exile, migration, and the rise and fall of power.
