Saša Spačal: The Library Of Fallen Tears
Can we imagine our tears as an environment in which other beings live? Saša Spačal has shaped a story from the elements and properties of tears, telling of a lonely girl who discovers that the path through life oscillates between crying and laughter—both giving rise to tears. She collects her tears, dries their microbes, and stores them. Upon realizing that she is never truly alone when crying, but always embedded in hydrological cycles—where humans are entangled with other life forms in a complex relationship of giving and receiving—she builds a sanctuary. Observing changes in nature, such as the accumulation and disappearance of water, she comes to understand the urgent need to protect living tears by creating hybrid beings capable of surviving in extreme conditions.
