Prešeren Awards and Prešeren Fund Awards
Sculptor Dragica Čadež and visual artist Nika Autor are among this year’s Prešeren Award recipients.
The Prešeren Awards, the highest honors for artistic achievements in Slovenia, are announced annually by the Prešeren Fund Management Board on December 3, the anniversary of France Prešeren's birth.
The Prešeren Award is presented to artists whose lifetime work has significantly enriched Slovenian cultural heritage through exceptional artistic achievements. The Prešeren Fund Award recognizes artists for their outstanding achievements over the past three years that have also contributed to the enrichment of Slovenian cultural heritage.
This year, the Prešeren Award for Lifetime Achievement has been awarded to Dragica Čadež, whose works were showcased in The Figurative and Returning the Gaze exhibitions at the Cukrarna Gallery.
Among the recipients of this year’s Prešeren Fund Award is Nika Autor. Her exhibition, Ecologies of Solidarity – Newsreels of Tomorrow, is currently on view in the basement gallery space and will remain open until January 15, 2025.
Congratulations to all the Prešeren Award recipients for 2025!
