This autumn, the Parterre Gallery features an exhibition by Slovenian intermedia artist Špela Petrič, recipient of the Prix Ars Electronica, Bio Art & Design Award, and White Aphroid Award, whose artistic practice explores the intersections of biology, technology, and ecology.

How are we to conceptualise the relationship between living organisms and the digital infrastructure that increasingly determines the conditions of their existence? The Eating Back exhibition by intermedia artist Špela Petrič draws on her interventions in industrial greenhouses where vegetables are grown for food retail chains. Through these interventions, the artist sheds light on the material, ideological and social conditions of technologically optimised environments, on which we as consumers are not only dependent, but with which we are also closely connected through the food we consume.
