The Neighbours & Citizens project by Apolonija Šušteršič debuted in 2022 as part of the Returning the Gaze exhibition. From its inception, the project envisioned the planting of an apple tree in the gallery courtyard that will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, featuring a presentation by Apolonija Šušteršič followed by the ceremonial planting of the apple tree and the signing of the apple orchard agreement.

Her inquiry extends beyond conventional notions of art and architecture, which often center around object creation, to embrace a broader spectrum of practices encompassing the dynamic processes and interrelationships shaped through spatial production.
