In her concert for voice and gesture, Irena Z. Tomažin continues her obsession with the question "Why watch, observe the voice".
Why do we need to be a witness to the reality of the (in)visible voice as well as to the self-evident audible reality of the voice? Something that does not have its own visible reality? It is as if it were to borrow its voice from the body. Their symbiosis is found in their endless "assembling, disassembling, assembling, disassembling..." in the space of the viewer, the listener, the witness. When we listen to others, we are in a sense only eavesdropping on ourselves. Similarly, when we look at others, we see (into) ourselves. Who has a voice? The one who speaks, howls, stutters...? The one who hears, listens, overhears...?
